UK einformation Group UKeiG is a respected and well-established body for all information professionals, users and developers of electronic information resources. It has individual and corporate members across all key UK sectors: government, legal, business and commerce, science, technology and healthcare, higher and further education, and the public sector, funded was founded in 1978 as UKOLUG - the UK Online User Group. It changed its name to the UK eInformation Group in 2004 to reflect changes in technology and the wider activities in which the Group is now involved.
Goals and objectives

.Disseminate high quality advice, information and publications about e-industry news and developments
.Raise awareness of existing and new technologies that retrieve, manage and process electronic information

The Sakai Foundation has announced that the 2008 Sakai Community Conference will be held in Paris, France. The dates will be Tuesday-Thursday, 1-3 July, with pre-conference sessions and activities On Monday, 30 June. All meetings and conference sessions will be held at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. The Sakai technical demonstrations will take place on Wednesday evening, 2 July 2008, at the Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Centre, which is located nearby.

In particular, the workshop will focus on the question of how the keepers of cultural heritage resources can improve information access by applying information technology and principles currently being developed in the area of information access.
